Big Sky Restaurant Reservations: M, Moonlight Basin, Montage

George Yates · Founder, SeatSwiper · Updated October 27, 2026

How do you get a table at Big Sky’s hardest restaurants?Book by zone. Big Sky Resort’s rooms and the canyon lodges use OpenTable with published windows (Everett’s 8800 30 days, Cortina 90, Peaks and McGill’s about 151), One&Only Moonlight Basin uses SevenRooms with no published window, and M by The Alinea Group books for its December 10 to April 3 residency through the resort’s OpenTable link.

Big Sky has no Main Street to stroll down looking for a table. Its hard reservations are spread across five separate places: the resort’s Mountain Village, the One&Only at Moonlight Basin, Montage Big Sky, the Town Center down the hill, and the lodges along Gallatin Canyon. Each zone books differently. The resort and hotel rooms run long or seasonal books and fill early. Town Center runs shorter windows that suit people who plan a few weeks out. Below are all fourteen restaurants on the list, grouped by where they are, as of October 2026.

How the zones behave

Big Sky Resort’s own restaurants and the canyon lodges take bookings on OpenTable and publish their windows, some very deep: about 151 days at Peaks Chophouse and at McGill’s. The three One&Only rooms at Moonlight Basin book on SevenRooms, which publishes no window, and like many resort SevenRooms books in autumn they may show little or nothing until the winter shifts are loaded. Cortina at Montage runs a straight 90 days on OpenTable. In Town Center, Block 3 books about 42 days ahead and Ousel & Spur uses Resy. One practical point: Big Sky is a drive between zones, not a walk. Book dinner near where you are staying or skiing, and leave the cross-mountain dinner for a night you have a ride.

M by The Alinea Group runs on a residency calendar

The most sought-after table in Big Sky only exists for part of the year. Grant Achatz’s Alinea Group returns to Big Sky Resort for a second winter, and the resort’s announcement gives the dates: December 10, 2026 to April 3, 2027, Thursday to Monday, with reservations opening on September 24. The resort’s dining page says reservations are open now through OpenTable, that parties of seven or more should email rather than book online, and that from 4:30 there is limited bar seating for food and drinks. We do not have a reliable booking window for M, and neither page states one, so do not trust a number you see quoted. If the dining room is gone for your dates, the bar is the realistic way in.

The fourteen, by zone

Mountain Village and Andesite Mountain

Everett’s is the one table on the list you can only reach by lift. For lunch there, the resort gives non-skiers a free walking lift ticket with proof of the booking. The on-mountain reservations guide covers how lift-access tables book across ski towns.

Moonlight Basin (One&Only)

All three belong to the same resort and book on SevenRooms. How these hotel books work, including why some tables never reach the public calendar, is in SevenRooms hidden reservations.

Montage Big Sky

Town Center

Gallatin Canyon

Two rooms that open a month at a time

Most of the list rolls forward one date per day. Cabin and Chet’s do not: on OpenTable’s schedule as of October 2026, each releases a whole calendar month at once, at midnight Mountain on the 1st. That changes the tactic. Every Friday and Saturday of the month appears in the same minute, so the 1st is the day to book, not a week later. At Chet’s that means all of January, MLK weekend included, opens on November 1, and all of February, Presidents’ Day weekend included, on December 1. Cabin’s six-month book already covers the whole season. Everett’s 30 days is the opposite case, one new date a day, and the resort states it in writing. The SevenRooms rooms remain the uncertain ones: an empty calendar there in October or early November usually means the winter shifts are not loaded yet.

Dates worth an alarm

Peaks and McGill’s already reach late March, so for those the only deadline is before someone else books your night. The ski-trip dinner planning guide sets out how far ahead to book for each kind of trip, and dinner for a big group covers the deposit and set-menu rules you will meet at places like Cortina.

Full disclosure: SeatSwiper is my product. Everything in this guide works without it. The last section explains where it helps and exactly what it costs.

Getting the table without watching five booking pages

Three SevenRooms books that may load late and a mountaintop room that opens 30 days out add up to more watching than most visitors have patience for. SeatSwiper does the watching. Give it the restaurant, your dates and party size and it books as soon as a table appears, on your own OpenTable, SevenRooms or Resy account, in your name, with nothing resold or transferred. Your first booking is free, then it is a flat $5 only when it actually books the table, no subscription, and a cancellation watch costs $1 to start, charged when the watch begins. It only covers those three platforms, it needs your account connected, and it can lose the race for a single returned seat. Nobody can promise you M on a Saturday.

FAQ

How do you get a reservation at M by The Alinea Group in Big Sky?

Book through the OpenTable link on Big Sky Resort’s M page. The 2026 to 2027 residency runs December 10 to April 3, Thursday to Monday, and reservations opened on September 24. Parties of seven or more email the resort, and limited bar seating is available from 4:30.

How far ahead can you book Everett’s 8800?

Big Sky Resort says reservations open 30 days in advance and fill up quickly. Everett’s sits at the top of the Ramcharger 8 chairlift, lift access is included with a dinner reservation, and cancelling inside 48 hours costs $50 per guest.

How do you book the restaurants at One&Only Moonlight Basin?

Akira Back, Wildwood and The Landing all take reservations on SevenRooms. None publishes a booking window, and in autumn the calendars can look empty until the winter shifts are loaded, so check the booking page again closer to the season.

Is Cortina at Montage Big Sky open to non-guests?

Yes. Montage says Cortina welcomes visitors who are not staying at the resort, with dinner nightly from 5:30 to 9:00. Groups of ten or more must reserve, pay a deposit and eat a four-course family-style menu. Its OpenTable book runs about 90 days ahead.
