Uchi Miami Reservations: How to Book the Wynwood Table

Uchi Miami is James Beard Award winning chef Tyson Cole’s contemporary Japanese room at 252 NW 25th Street, in the middle of the Wynwood Arts District. It is the Miami chapter of the Austin original, built around seasonal omakase, signature tastings and the sushi that made the name, in a Michael Hsu designed space with a hand woven rope wall at the door. Resy carries it in three collections at once, Climbing, Top Rated and Miami’s Greatest Seafood Spots. But the reason people struggle to get a Uchi Miami reservation is not the usual one. The room is not tiny and the tables do not evaporate in seconds. The problem is that the Resy board everyone refreshes is only part of the book.

How booking Uchi Miami actually works

Uchi Miami takes reservations on Resy, and its calendar runs on a rolling window of roughly 30 days. Checking on 29 August 2026, the furthest bookable date was 28 September, and 29 September returned nothing at all. One new date enters range each day, so the calendar is a conveyor belt rather than a weekly release. The restaurant does not publish an open time, so there is no posted hour to set an alarm for the way you would at a spot with a stated 10am release.

Two mechanics matter more than the clock here. First, Resy sells three distinct seat types at Uchi, Dining Room, Patio and Sushi Bar, and they do not fill at the same rate, so a night that looks closed for one is often wide open for another. Second, and this is the one that quietly wrecks plans, Resy caps the party size at four. Search for five and you get an empty calendar with no explanation, which reads exactly like a sold out night when it is nothing of the sort.

The commitment is light. Standard Resy tables at Uchi are not prepaid tickets and carry no deposit and no stated cancellation fee, so you are holding a normal reservation. Service runs daily, lunch from noon to 3pm and dinner from 5pm to 11pm, with happy hour every day from 5pm to 6:30pm.

Why the table is hard to get

The difficulty at Uchi is structural rather than seasonal, and it comes down to split inventory. The restaurant says so plainly in its own note on the Resy listing: walk ins are always welcome, and additional availability and reservations for parties of five or more can be found at uchirestaurants.com. Resy repeats it in the large party message, telling groups of five and up to book directly on the restaurant’s website.

That website does not run on Resy. Uchi’s own booking page hands you to SevenRooms, which means Uchi Miami is one restaurant with two live boards, and the tables you cannot find are frequently sitting on the one you are not looking at. On top of that, the genuinely scarce seats are narrower than the calendar suggests. Prime weekend dinner between about 7:30pm and 8:30pm goes first, as it does everywhere. Solo diners are steered to a single seat type, since a party of one on Resy returns Sushi Bar seats only, no dining room, no patio. And Miami’s calendar swings harder than most cities: an August Tuesday and a December Saturday in Wynwood during Art Basel are effectively different restaurants. The off-peak and back-door angles

Because the pressure here is about channel and seat type rather than raw scarcity, the workarounds are unusually effective:

• Check the other board before you give up. If Resy shows nothing for your date, go to uchirestaurants.com and run the same search on SevenRooms. The restaurant states outright that extra availability lives there, and this single step solves more failed Uchi searches than any timing trick.
• Split a party of five. Resy will not sell you five seats. Book two adjacent times as a four and a one, or take the group to the restaurant’s own site, which handles five and up.
• Walk in. Uchi says walk ins are always welcome, on the Resy listing and on its own site, and daily happy hour from 5pm to 6:30pm is the natural time to try. Here is how walk ins work at hard tables.
• Book lunch instead of dinner. Lunch runs from noon to 3pm every day and is dramatically calmer than the dinner service for the same kitchen.
• Take the edges. A 5pm seating or a 10pm one, with the kitchen going to 11pm, beats fighting for 8pm. Switching seat type from Dining Room to Patio or Sushi Bar often does the same job.
• Ride the rolling edge. A new date joins the window every day, so checking the moment your target first appears is far better than scrolling a picked over calendar a fortnight later.

When cancelled tables come back

The second opening is cancellations, and Uchi’s light booking terms cut both ways. Because a standard Resy table here asks for no deposit and no cancellation fee, nothing discourages a guest from dropping a Saturday reservation the afternoon of, which means returned seats are frequent and often land close to service. The richest stretch is the 24 to 48 hours before your date, when people firm up their weekend, with a second flurry on the day itself.
