Second, the Resy listing carries a cancellation charge of $50 per person on weekend reservations cancelled less than 12 hours before the seating, which matters more for catching a table than booking one. If your heart is set on a specific Saturday noon, the front door is the only door and you should treat the 30-day opening seriously. If you can bend at all, this restaurant has more give than most:

• Sadelle’s Cafe next door. A separate counter operation open daily 8am to 3pm, serving the signature coffees, the Old-Fashioned Donuts the neighborhood shows up for, and a newer menu of matcha lattes, smoothies, and frozen yogurt. Not the dining room, but it needs no reservation at all.
• Move to a weekday morning. A 9:00am or 10:00am Tuesday in the dining room is a completely different search from a Saturday noon, with the same kitchen and a calmer terrace.
