In practice the Greenwich Village room at dinner runs to a collared shirt with trousers or dark denim, often with a blazer or an interesting jacket, frequently without a tie. The tone the room sets is closer to expensive-but-playful than corporate: the captains are in tuxedos, the lighting is red, and guests generally dress to match the theater rather than to pass an inspection.
