How to Book Sexy Fish Miami Weeks in Advance

Sexy Fish occupies the ground floor at 1001 South Miami Avenue, in the stretch of Brickell where the finance towers give way to condo balconies. It is the London original rebuilt for Florida by Martin Brudnizki, and the room is most of the argument: coral leather seats, illuminated agate floors, Damien Hirst mermaids, Frank Gehry crocodiles overhead, and a wall-length tank of live coral and tropical fish. The kitchen works a robata grill through Japanese-leaning menus, wagyu gyoza with truffle and foie gras, black cod, sashimi and nigiri, and the cellar behind it runs past a thousand wines and 230 champagnes, including one of the largest restaurant collections of Opus One anywhere. Live music plays seven nights a week and the room tips into a late-night party Thursday through Saturday from 10pm.

Now the honest framing, because it changes everything about how you approach this one. Sexy Fish is not one of Miami’s impossible tables. Nobody is setting a midnight alarm for it and nobody needs to. The problem worth solving here is the other one: the night you care about is two or three months away, the booking calendar behaves in a way the page never explains, and you would like to lock it once and stop carrying it around until December.

Two calendars, two different front edges

The restaurant’s own site sends you to SevenRooms, and that is the deeper book. It is also live on Resy, and the two are emphatically not the same size. Probing both on 10 September 2026, Resy’s last bookable night was 8 November, exactly sixty days out, with nothing at all on 9 November even though the SevenRooms calendar showed that same Monday open from noon to 11pm. SevenRooms ran far further, to 8 December, eighty nine days ahead, and stopped dead on 9 December. Party ceilings differ as well: Resy takes two to six online and tells groups of seven or more to phone the restaurant on 305 889 7888, SevenRooms will book up to ten, and anything from twenty goes to the private dining team. What the far end of the calendar actually shows

Between roughly sixty and ninety days out, the SevenRooms calendar here is only partly switched on, and the pattern held on every date checked. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday show the entire day, noon through 11pm, forty five seatings deep. Thursday, Friday and Saturday show nothing before 9pm and everything from 9:00pm to 11:45pm. Sunday shows nothing whatever. Then the sixty day line arrives and the rest fills in at once. The nights Miami takes off the board

Inside the fully opened window the room does fill, and it fills around this city’s calendar rather than evenly across it. Three examples from the same September check. Halloween, Saturday 31 October, seven weeks out: the only bookable times left were lunch, noon to 3pm, and the whole evening had gone. Thanksgiving, 26 November: nothing bookable at any hour. Art Basel Miami Beach runs 4 to 6 December 2026, and those three dates were the single stretch inside the ninety day calendar where even the late-night block came back empty, while the Monday and Tuesday immediately after, 7 and 8 December, showed the full day. Miami Spice pulls on the calendar too. Sexy Fish runs it from August through October, lunch daily from noon to 4pm starting at $40 and dinner starting at $65, and the dinner menu is Monday through Wednesday only. The rule that quietly decides your guest list

This is the detail that ruins more Sexy Fish plans than availability ever does, and it appears nowhere near the booking button. The restaurant only takes reservations including guests under twenty one between noon and 6:45pm, and states that every guest must be over twenty one after 7pm. Dinner bookings with minors run 5:30pm to 6:45pm. A graduation dinner, a family birthday, any table with a nineteen year old at it is a lunch or an early seating, and no amount of watching the calendar turns it into an 8:30. Work that out before you pick the date rather than after. The dress code is enforced in the same spirit: shorts are not permitted after 5pm, and at any hour the door turns away athletic sneakers, rubber and silicone footwear, flip flops and sliders, caps, hoodies, tank tops, ripped jeans and party accessories like sashes and crowns. There is a ten minute grace period on arrival. And every reservation is for dining, not drinking: if you only want a cocktail and some maki at the bar, that is a walk-in, subject to space.

Locking it in, and what to do when the plan moves

Four steps and you are finished thinking about it. Pick the night and work out which of the two mornings applies, today for a Monday through Wednesday, the sixty day mark for anything else. Make the account and save a card beforehand so confirming is one tap. Book the date first and the perfect time second, because a confirmed 6:15pm you can improve later beats an empty calendar. Then size the party honestly upward: on SevenRooms a booking for six is trivially reduced to four later, while a two top cannot be grown into a full Saturday.
