Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi takes up the entire 31st floor of Lincoln Square South, at 10400 NE 4th Street in downtown Bellevue, and the address is the whole point. One floor, one kitchen doing Wagyu and a full sushi program at the same time, and a ring of glass that looks west over Lake Washington toward Seattle and the Olympics. It is where the Eastside takes people. Anniversaries, a promotion, parents visiting from out of state, a June graduation dinner, the client who flew in for two days: they all end up 31 floors up in this room.

Worth saying plainly at the top: this is not one of the region’s impossible tables. Walk the calendar on almost any date more than a week or two out and it is wide open, at nearly every hour and party size. Your problem is a different one. The night you care about is months away, the middle of that night is the part everybody wants, and you would rather book it once and never think about it again. Everything below was checked against the restaurant’s own pages and its live booking calendar on September 10, 2026.

How far the calendar reaches, and what a far date really shows you

Reservations run through SevenRooms, under the venue key ascendprime, and that is the only online inventory for the dining room. There is no Resy page and no OpenTable page to cross check, so the one calendar is the entire picture. The front desk at (425) 625-2080 handles anything the widget will not, and the restaurant’s own FAQ says only that it recommends booking in advance to secure your preferred time, with no published release hour and no stated day count.

So we measured it. Paging the date picker forward, dinner was still selling instantly on September 9, 2027, and the day after that switched to request-only times. That puts the runway at roughly 364 days, which is about as long a horizon as an occasion restaurant ever gives you. A Saturday next July is very probably sitting there bookable right now. Since the house does not publish that number, confirm it yourself before you plan around it: push the picker to the last day that still offers real times and count forward from today. One distinction saves a lot of confusion here, because this book uses both kinds of slot. A bookable time confirms your table immediately. A request is you asking the restaurant to fit you in, which it may decline, and on a phone the two look almost identical. Past the 364-day edge everything is a request, and inside it requests still turn up in specific places.

Three lanes, released on three different clocks

This is the mechanic that makes Ascend Prime different from most rooms on a long window, and it is the reason a distant date can look disappointingly thin when it is nothing of the sort. The book actually holds several separate pools of seats, and they are not all loaded at the same time.

• The dining room lane is the one loaded a full year out. On any ordinary date it offers seventeen times, 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM in fifteen minute steps.
• The lounge lane, 21 and over, is a genuinely separate set of seventeen bookable times on the same floor with the same view. On September 10 it ran out at about December 10, roughly three months ahead, and simply did not exist on dates beyond that.
• The GUARANTEED VIEW lane is the window tables, sold with a $50 table fee that the restaurant states secures the requested window table and is not a credit toward your meal. It reached only to about November 9, roughly two months ahead. It is also tiny: on a normal evening it offered exactly six times, 5:15, 5:30, 5:45 and 6:00, then 7:45 and 8:00. Two turns of the same glass-side tables, and nothing at all between 6:15 and 7:30.

Read that stack correctly and your plan writes itself. A date eight months out that shows one column of times is not a booked-out restaurant. It is one lane released and the others not loaded yet. Take the dining room table now so the date is yours, then set yourself a note for roughly the two month mark and go back for the window seat when that lane appears. From November 27 through December 24, Snowflake Lane runs nightly at 7pm between Bellevue Square and Lincoln Square, from NE 4th to NE 8th, which is to say directly beneath this dining room. Corporate season stacks on top of it. A holiday party in one of those does not show as a closure on the public book. It just quietly makes the ordinary room tighter than the date looks.

The marquee occasion dates behave differently again, and this catches people out. Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day and Mother’s Day 2027 all returned no service whatsoever on the calendar. That is not a sold-out night. It means no ordinary service has been published for it, because those dates run as separately loaded special services that appear closer to the time. Valentine’s weekend 2027 shows what the loaded version looks like: its own named dinner shift, every dinner time request-only, while brunch on both days was instantly bookable from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Which seatings hold, and which go first

The pressure is concentrated in one narrow band, and it only shows up in the final stretch. For the coming Friday, September 11, the dining room held 5:00 to 5:45 and then nothing again until 8:15, running to 9:30. For Saturday the 12th it held a single 5:00 and then picked up at 7:45. Every hour outside 6:00 to 8:00 on a Friday or Saturday survived, and by the Sunday the full seventeen-slot grid was back. The practical version: if your date is a weekend and you want to sit at seven, book it early, because that is the one thing that genuinely disappears.

• The 5:00 to 5:45 stretch and the 8:15 to 9:30 stretch last longest. The dining room seats to 9:30 Sunday through Thursday and 10:00 on Friday and Saturday, and a late weekend table behaves like a quiet Tuesday.
• Weekend brunch is the underused occasion slot. Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, prix fixe at $75 for two selections or $88 for three, fifteen bookable times, and almost none of the competition that the same room sees at seven in the evening.
• The lounge before 5pm is a request, not a booking. The afternoon lounge times, from 3:00 on weekdays and 4:00 at weekends, come back as request-only, so treat a confirmation there as pending rather than held.
• Party size is the real difficulty setting. Two through six have full inventory across every lane. Eight and nine thin out to roughly ten dinner times. Ten is still bookable. Twelve and above returns nothing instant at all and belongs with the private dining team at the front desk instead of in the widget.
• The patios take no reservations, ever. The restaurant says plainly that it will not book outdoor tables because it cannot guarantee the weather, so those run first come, first served and are never part of your plan.

Lock the date once, then let it go

The routine is short. Decide the night, the party size and two acceptable times before you open the book, and be signed in already rather than typing details while a slot sits unconfirmed. Take the best time on offer even if it is not your first choice, because holding a 5:30 you can improve on beats holding nothing while you wait for a 7:00. Put the occasion in the reservation notes when you book instead of announcing it on the night.
